A next generation USB Flash Drive
The Hagiwara Sys-Com UD-RW acts as a virtual CD-ROM drive, complete with autorun. Two drive icons appear when the UD-RW is inserted to a USB drive, the normal read/write section and the protected read/write section. The UD-RW is an innovative 2-in-1 drive without the mess of drivers!
These drives
currently come in 128MB (HUD-RW128E) and 256MB (HUD-RW256E) capacities with
larger capacities coming soon.

Two drive icons, Protected Read-Only Drive (A CD-ROM icon) and Removal Re-writable Drive (A Removable Disk icon), appear when UD-RW is inserted to a USB drive of your PC or laptop. UD-RW allows you to manage data depending on the application. Save information that you do not frequently modify, such as address book, pictures, and music files as well as important documents in the Protected Drive while save data that you regularly updates on the Removal Drive.
Unlike the type of USB flash drive that has a write protect switch, UD-RW allows you have read-only drive and re-writable drive at the same time. UD-RW is also different from the type of USB flash drive that uses security software to protect data. The data will always be protected regardless which PC or laptop you insert the UD-RW.
The UD-RW can be configured to auto-run your music and movie files as well as presentations just like your CD-ROM drive. (For Windows XP and Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 and above)
Proprietary Software for writing on CD-ROM region
The UD-RW writing software is included in the package. This software is designed for writing exclusively on the CD-ROM like portion of the UD-RW. This feature prevents your important data from being unintentionally deleted because you cannot write to the CD-ROM portion of the Flash Drive without using the proprietary software that is included with this USB Flash Drive, but you can still write to the normal flash drive portion of the UD-RW. Using the program is as simple as dragging and dropping your files into the appropriate location. It also certainly works as a normal USB in that allows users to read and write data without the proprietary software, just not on the designated CD-ROM section.
No additional Driver is required
Installation of a driver is not needed to access files on the UD-RW (For Windows 2000 and above).
